Mission & Philosophy
The mission of the Arts For Peace Foundation is to provide therapy, rehabilitation and recreation for children whose lives are affected by conflict.
This is accomplished by providing residential, interactive intercultural educational programmes with therapists and tutors to promote understanding, tolerance and friendship between children of different cultures.
The aim of the programmes is to promote intercultural respect and understanding and assist each child to grow into a young peace leader in his or her community.
All the residential programmes are intercultural and include a minimum of two countries. Irish children are represented on each programme.
The process of Therapeutic Recreation, an allied health profession and peace and mediation education combine to make a powerful new model through which children learn to heal their life experiences, learn new life skills and share their experiences through therapy and recreation with children of diverse cultures.
